Swallowing My Pride

So I guess this is where it all begins, or ends, depending on how you look at it.

I've always prided myself on not being one of those people who have to settle for emotionally slitting their wrists on the internet and bleeding out their feelings on URL, instead of in reality. Certain people are completely unable to speak how they feel anywhere outside of their keyboard. I may or may not have made fun of said people and tried my best to get them out of their e-world and into the one you and I live in.

Thanks to none other than Derek Lackaff, here I am, dressed in nothing but a grimace and basketball shorts, bloggin' my heart out.

As I sit here and swallow my pride, realizing that I've become everything I said I wouldn't, I'm trying to think of the positives. I'll hopefully hone my writing skills, eventually becoming a wizard of words, able to undress emotional firewalls with whatever flows out of my mouth and or fingertips.

Get ready Lackaff, I'm about to blow your mind. Or at the very least, finish an assignment.

And now the personal stuff.

I'm John. I love listening to music and going to shows. I feel like pop punk is my music of choice, but I'm most definitely open to a ton of other genres. If you're interested, go creep my Facebook.

I'm a huge sports fan, but the Yankees, and only the Yankees, truly matter. The Bills are close, but consistent heartbreak keeps me from completely giving in.

I write for The Spectrum. And as of right now, I'm the Senior Arts Editor. Fingers crossed on me keeping that job.

As for the future, I have no idea what I want to do or become. What I do know is that I don't want to be here 10 years down the line bloggin' about missed opportunities and girl trouble.

I'm one click away from the rest of this contradictory existence in the blogisphere. God help me.
